Really cool game. Definitely my favourite from that jam's top ones. I think that the idea of the player not being the main protagonist should be explored more. Very nice work!
Game is fire! How did you managed to do AI for player? Also AI for, well, AI? It's mindblowing. Can you tell some info about how player moves and AI chooses what to do?
From what i knew of the game, the logic of the dumb player (or dummy) is it has some pre-coded/hardcoded moves (move left, move right, jump, jump right, jump left, do nothing) and every few seconds, do a random move from the pre-coded moves. The randomness is a bit skewed to try to get the dummy closer to the end point (green orb)
Hey, don't know how I missed this comment! The AI is actually pretty simple. It works as follows: It has a chance of moving to the finish, or not moving. Whatever it decides, it does that for a random amount of time before choosing again. It also has a small chance to attempt to jump every frame. I'm glad you find it cool :)
I don't remember well, but i think that the most i was interested in 'hostile' AI. Like, how it's deciding what to do? Player ai seems pretty straightforward, yeah :)
Ahhh my bad, the evil guy AI isn't really an AI, it just spawns bombs at a random position above the player, and it only spawns once the cursor reaches within a certain distance of that point. Between bombs, it decides on a random point to go to, and triggering any actions (like moving the finish) causes the cursor to complete that as its next task. The cursor basically always lerps to wherever something needs to be done. I don't 100% remember how it works so lmk if you want to know more.
Thanks, i guess that's enough. I don't wanna know every detail anyway, so i accidentally don't copy that logic. Better to invent things like that by yourself. Thanks a lot!
I loved how user friendly it was! I never felt like I was being overly punished for my mistakes, making each failure into a fun and quick learning experience! The boss fight did feel a bit underwhelming - I wanted to work more with everything I learned throughout the game!
Wow, my favorite game of this jam, please make it a real game afterwards. Really fun gameplay, the theme is insanely good, the visuals are really great, I love how polished is the game. The physics feels fantastic, the sound design is very qualitative aswell. I love how the chains sound, really satisfying. You did a fan ta stic job.
Mechanics, art and graphics. It was one hell of a game. Well done completing a game like this in just one week. It was very fun.
Also last level was very fun but it wasn't hard. Like the box guys death didn't pose a threat to gameplay. Still, it's the best game from jam submissions I have played so far. I hope you'll win.
Thanks so much for the feedback! I see what you mean, and I have thought about it before. I will try to make deaths more significant somehow after rating ends.

Thanks so much! I agree, I think the idea can be taken a lot further ;)
